SINTEC Heat transfer fluid THERMAGENT-SOL




 

 
Heat transfer fluid «THERMAGENT SOL» is physiologically non-hazardous coolant in the form of a transparent liquid on the basis of an aqueous solution of 1.2 - propylene glycol and higher glycols (made in Germany), used in solar heating systems, especially those that work at elevated temperatures. The product is mixed with deionized water and has freezing resistance about minus 23 º C and a working temperature of plus 200 º C. 
 
 
This coolant contains corrosion inhibitors, non-toxic and contains no amines, nitrites and phosphates. Advanced technology «Organic Acid Technology» is used in the manufacture. The product complies with European Union requirements according to DIN 4757 part 3 for solar heating systems. The composition also includes the high-boiling physiologically non-hazardous, high molecular weight glycol having a boiling point above +290 º C at 1013 mbar. 
 
 
«THERMAGENT SOL» was designed by virtue of expanding of the use of vacuum collectors, having a high temperature idle - up to +260 º C. Conventional coolants based on ethylene glycol and propylene glycol are apt to evaporate in such systems at high temperatures 
because of the low boiling points of these glycols. They leave some insoluble saltlike deposits, which can lead to the problems at work if the collector often stands idle. This new product consists mainly of high-boiling physiologically non-hazardous, high-molecular glycols having a boiling point above +290 º C at 1013 mbar. Thus, the mentioned deposits remain to be liquid. 
 
 
«THERMAGENT SOL» is an ideal coolant or high-range solar heating systems, in particular with vacuum collectors. Usually, the materials used in solar systems, such as copper, stainless steel and aluminum, are protected from corrosion attack for many years with 
special corrosion inhibitors. For optimum protection, you need to follow these rules: 1. The systems must meet the requirements of DIN 4757 and should be with a closed loop. Compensators burst pressure of the membrane must comply with DIN 4807. 2. Before filling the system should be flushed with water. Pipe joints, valves and pumps should be checked for leaks under pressure. 3. Joints soldered by brazed solder should be treated with fine solder. Traces of slag (if possible without chloride) must be washed by pumping of hot water. 4. If possible, do not use galvanized components in the system, since zinc is not resistant to this product and dissolves, which can lead to deposits. In these cases mud bafles and filters can help. 5. After checking under the pressure, which also makes it possible determine the water-holding capacity of the system, drain the system and immediately fill «THERMAGENT SOL» to eliminate air pockets. 
6. Operating temperature of the product +200º., so you should avoid long-term system shutdown due to inconvertible effect on the stability of the coolant and a significant reduction in service life. 
7. In the case of leakage, always refill undiluted «THERMAGENT SOL». Avoid mixing with 
other products. If, in exceptional cases, for refilling water is used, the concentration (freezing 
 
resistance)of the coolant should be checked with a hydrometer. Freezing resistance shall be 
not higher than -20 º C to ensure adequate frost / corrosion resistance. 
 
 
The concentration of «THERMAGENT SOL» (freezing resistance) should be checked 
annually. The quality of the coolant and the level of corrosion protection should also be 
checked approximately every 2 years. 
 
 
We would like to emphasize that any corrosion or deposits already present in the system can 
interact with the product with unpredictable consequences.
